nobody asked, but...

History

8th October 2003

9:32am: who could sleep on a night that's got so much else to do? things like ten dollar salads and learning all about mahi-mahi. from there it was tribeca, a restaurant (or a bar, i'm still not sure) that was all clean lines and celebrities. we feasted on what we couldn't afford and stayed too late. next was a hotel lobby, glares and trends and glasses of water all around. we made our connection then scampered away to the final destination, full of jameson's and wood. i met a boy so cute my heart stopped. i was hit on poorly and giggled about it. i waited for hours in subway stations all across manhattan and stumbled into my apartment far too late, sobered. a long night became an early morning and i'm on the train again, missing what i had just hours before.
Current Music: fucking travis. i hate.
11:45am: from today's horoscope:
Difficult people assume a new role in your life.

unless that role is something close to dead, i'm not interested.
1:59pm: a hole in my skin like a puncture from a kitten tooth opened, accidentally. it was tiny, so i didn't bother with a bandaid. now a foreign object has found itself lodged in there, underneath my skin, working its way into my blood. it's a little bit like a splinter that's broken off and can't be pulled out with tweezers anymore; it hurts, or rather, i know it could hurt eventually. no, that's not like a splinter at all, is it. maybe it's more like a boil, or a malignant skin melanoma. or maybe i should just strive for less medical metaphors.
