nobody asked, but...

History

2nd October 2003

12:38am: everyone has ten minutes exactly to weigh in on the matter or whether or not i should enjoy another tasty beer. go.
12:54am: you're all too slow. decision has been made. maybe next time you'll have a say.

edited to say: oops. guess i should check to see if anyone responds before declaring y'all invalid. regardless, i agree with my one lovely commenter. beer is good. mmm beer.
12:58am: it's getting cold, and i'm delighted. cold breezes wipe away the stuck-ness of summer and there's nothing that could make me happier. the chill of fall puts me in mind of cold grey kisses. i think of a-line skirts with boots crunching over a dying world.

wow. it never occured to me that *of course* i love fall and winter; the world is dead and dying then. someday i'll get over this morbid fascination with loss and pain and things that hurt. but not today. today, i'll sniffle from the cold and feel the wind whip my cheeks like a naughty sub's ass and huddle under a big blanket, loving the weather.
2:59pm: there's something missing these days; really good writing. i'm not sure what happened or when exactly most of the things i read became crap, but it's now undeniable. i know there was a time when i read a number of really fascinating, well-written webjournals; most of those have now gone defunct, are updated rarely, or have become crappy. there are exceptions, one or two, and i try to link to those and give them credit where it is so painfully due.

i guess the prompt for this was looking at a webjournal that i used to read religiously and now only look at for sentimental reasons and realizing that what was once subtle, nuanced, interesting and always beautifully written just isn't anymore. it kind of sucks.

i guess my question is, where is all the really good writing on the web? i'll show you mine if you'll show me yours.
