Stanley Kunitz: A Celebration
SUN AND MON OCT 19 AND 20 @ 8 PM
U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz provides the inspiration for newly commissioned music by Milton Babbitt, Eve Beglarian, Dave Douglas, Paul Scott Goodman, and Charles Wuorinen. Kunitz reads from his work and jazz vocalist Andy Bey joins the Group for Contemporary Music for this premiere performance commissioned by Works & Process.


i can't decide whether or not i'm excited, but it's free.

i did. and you're right. it was amazing (see newest post for more in-depth description). the whole thing was just fucking incredible. i tried to introduce myself to mr. wuorinen, but i don't think he was at the reception. the piece he did is called the long boat, if you want to hunt it down.
