a hole in my skin like a puncture from a kitten tooth opened, accidentally. it was tiny, so i didn't bother with a bandaid. now a foreign object has found itself lodged in there, underneath my skin, working its way into my blood. it's a little bit like a splinter that's broken off and can't be pulled out with tweezers anymore; it hurts, or rather, i know it could hurt eventually. no, that's not like a splinter at all, is it. maybe it's more like a boil, or a malignant skin melanoma. or maybe i should just strive for less medical metaphors.
