i met paul because he handed me a brochure for gomez, the new mascot for the daughters of the revolution. i laughed harder than i had laughed in weeks, and then he disappeared. weeks later, he limped into a west side story rehearsal and i called him gimpy because i had no idea what his name was. i know it now, so sometimes i use it, but mostly, i just think of him as "my friend, gimpy."
